Un Verano Sin Ti Surface Design
As a prompt I challenged myself to step into the realm of surface design while making it seasonal. I was thinking of summer initially but making stickers and beach balls weren’t exactly something that I felt passionate about. Being a fan of music I thought about a hit summer album and immediately thought of Un Verano Sin Ti by Bad Bunny. Keeping it still a little familiar I rendered an alternative vinyl cover something closer to my style. Being a little more humorous I made a logo and mockup for some sunblock (Referenced in “Neverita”). Finally I made a blanket/towel design that encompassed Puerto Rican iconography in combination with album references as well. This album represented so much for Latino pride that Summer of 2022 so creating hand rendered type for each song title felt appropriate to showcase the diversity and individuality of them all.

Artist Note
I genuinely have so much love for this body of music for how it sounds and what it represents. This project combined both illustration and hand rendered type so I am glad I was able to put those skills to use. I hope this pushes viewers to not only enjoy my art but to check out Bad Bunny if they are not already a fan! His style, advocacy and influences truly reflect in his discography.
